The Workers Are Few

Jesus went through villages,
Towns and cities too,
Speaking of the kingdom,
And of its good news

Healing every sickness,
Curing every woe,
Making good diseases,
And seeing that they go

When He saw them crowding,
Compassion moved His heart,
They were all so helpless,
Like actors with no part

No one their to guide them,
They were just a flock,
Sheep without a shepherd,
Hands without a clock

So he said to Peter,
Paul and all the rest,
'We have lots to harvest,
But we've no workers yet'

'Ask the Lord of harvests,
To send some workers out,
Let his field be planted,
With seeds to grow and sprout.'

Matthew 9:35-38
