Made Alive in Christ

based on Ephesians 2: 1-10

As for you, you died,
You're death was in your sin,
That was where your house was,
The world which took you in

Who then was your leader?
— The ruler of the air,
Whose kingdom ruled your spirit,
And all the rebels there

The evil and unruly,
All of us lived there,
Feeding on our cravings,
None of us were spared

Our natures made it certain,
But God's mercy's great,
Christ is now here living,
He sets all our fates

Dead in sin, it held us,
But by Him we're saved,
Christ it was who raised us,
Heaven's what we crave

So that in the future,
He could show His grace,
The richness and the kindness,
Expressed in Jesus' face

By the gift He sent us,
Faith's what sets your aim,
Given to you freely,
Not something you claim

You can't boast of getting,
What you didn't earn,
God's love is what made us,
And is how we learn

Crafted by the Maker,
Created for His works,
With Jesus as example,
There's no time to shirk.
