Renewed Appeal

(from 2 Timothy 2: 1-13)

Keep your faith,
In grace be strong,
Make it last,
A day's length long

What you've heard,
Once said to men,
Repeat to those,
Who you depend

Those qualified,
Teach and sing,
Together stand,
In suffering

Like soldiers in,
A civic throng,
Do not mix,
Stick and belong

Obey commands,
As reaping crops,
A farmer's first,
So gets the tops

Do your best,
And don't be fools,
Like athletes,
Who keep the rules

Compete and win,
By loving God,
Please the boss,
Aiming for gold

My words are right,
God adds to it,
Provides insight,
Think for a bit

What we know,
Is Jesus died,
And then He rose,
In David's line

His gospel is,
The word of God,
A sufferer,
Was chained for it

Unchain it, and
You will endure,
Because of those,
Who remain pure

Remember this,
A rhyme to learn,
Trust it's true,
A saying known:

Once we died,
Alongside Him,
Now we live,
And so does He

If we persist,
We'll also reign,
Together we
Will be the same

If we disown,
He'll disown us,
If faith goes,
He always trusts

He's always there,
With Him we're safe,
He can't change,
Always has faith.
